Sipping Bliss Aperitif

Mr Hugh's Sipping Bliss Aperitif is an Australian wine history tour. Starting with gems from the cellar of WJ Seabrook and Son Est 1878.

It is a return to one of my first loves in wine. I owned these soleros from 1982 to 1986 and when the opportunity came up to buy a little bit back 8 months ago - I could not say no.

I have bottled some Sipping Bliss Aperitif (which would have been historically called Amontillado Sherry) a rare old fortified wine of exceptional intensity of flavour and complexity. The wine has been quietly aging in Spanish sherry casks for generations. The Aperitif has a delightful nutty aroma, with notes of tobacco and aromatic herbs.

In summer serve from the fridge with tapas before a meal.
